The Lightning Tree
I like this place. Late evening way back by the Woods, in Autumn. The close Tree is The Lightning Tree, it has a few burns on it and is shaped by the Westerly winds. In the distance the farmer makes another run towards the road in the John Deere, about half a mile, as he is finishing up harvesting the Soybeans. About half an hour later it was very quiet, and I was fortunate to see a flock of Canada Geese heading towards Old Man Harrison’s Pond. I stayed there until almost dark, then hiked the field again with my Dog.
